around an ‘M’ shaped course, for a duration of 20 to 30 minutes.
The winning competitor -completing the most laps during the time period.
Other Classes Used
Other classes and types of fast craft used on the lake are Fast Electric,
Model Offshore Powerboats and Circuit Racing Models. We have also had
model submarines (not fast!) on the lake.
Racing Clubs
It cannot be emphasised enough just how important it is to join a model
club. This is not just for Multi-racing, but for all forms of model boating.
The most important reason is that the club will be able to arrange insurance
cover for you through the governing association. This will normally be
included in your annual membership fee.
You will not be able to operate a radio-controlled or powered model without
this insurance, and will be barred from entering any competition without
proof of insurance.
The beginner will appreciate advice and help
existing club members will assist in preparing and helping to tune a beginners
boat. This is important, as there are no commercially available kits for
one of these boats, you buy the components and build it yourself
with a few (if any) instructions. There are many competitions between
the spring and autumn months for Multi-racing. These involve Local, National
and International events.
